At Flagg Nursery School we are building our international links with an education programme led by the Cathedral Relief Service (CRS) in Kolkata, India.
Our nursery children will be learning more about this programme and building links with children involved.

Information about the Cathedral Relief Service (CRS)
CRS mission statement
'Our mission is to provide education, health care and empowerment to women and children of all faiths and none, motivating them to realise their full potential through individual and collectiver action and change. We bring together people with different challenges to be strong and work as one to secure their rights'
The work of CRS
The work of CRS is focused on city slums in metropolitan Kolkata and rural villages in the surrounding districts.
There are three main programme areas: education, health and women's empowerment.
Within the education programme the primary focus is to build core skills to prepare children for formal schooling. They are taught subjects such as Bengali, English and maths. Each year several hundred children are deemed ready to enrol in state schools and CRS facilitates the application process.
