Equality & Diversity
It is important to recognise that very young children absorb the influences surrounding them. We ensure these are positive, so that every child sees their own and others' gender, race, culture, social standing, abilities and experiences as valuable.
Derbyshire Local Authority and the Department for Education clearly state that all children, regardless of ethnicity, culture or religion, home language, family background, learning difficulties or disabilities, gender or ability should have the opportunity to experience a challenging and enjoyable programme of learning and development.
We uphold this policy by providing an environment where each child is valued as an individual and encouraged to develop to their full potential, whilst at the same time valuing diversity in others and growing up to make a positive contribution to British society and to uphold British values.
